On 3 February 2010, the Florida Detachment of the 77th Inf. Div. Reserve Officers Association held a luncheon-reunion at the Airport Hilton Hotel in West Palm Beach. Age and attrition are reducing their numbers but present were BG Russ Wright and Huldur Wright, Col Manuel Schechet and Virginia Schechet, Col Ron Blau, Co. Arthur DeRuve and Dorothy DeRuve, Col. Charlie Sues and and Lora Sues, CW4 Leonard Polikoff and Sophie Herman.

BG Wright presented Col Schechet with a copy of "The Liberty Torch 1917-2008." It is believed that Col. Schechet served the 77th longer thah any other individual.

The weather was great, the food was great, and the ambiance was great. The afternoon was spent in spirited conversation and wonderful memories. A highlight of the afternoon was celebrating Virginia Schechet'sd 90th birthday. They agreed to hold next year's luncheon in the same place.
